Mercedes-Benz Club Russia | Mercedes-Benz / Notes - VIN identification

Mercedes-Benz Club Russia | Mercedes-Benz / Notes - VIN identification:

This service is primarily intended as a first aid in choosing and acquiring a Mercedes-Benz car. We also consider it to be our contribution into fighting stolen cars sales. We believe that detailed car data should be available to potential car buyer, as these are already accessible to criminals anyway.

It is a well-known fact that Mercedes-Benz cars are very popular among automotive criminals and frauds. It is typical for them to forge vehicle identification, factory plates, documents, re-finish cars and change their options. It is also common for legitimate car owners to add or remove options, change interior and exterior finishing or introduce other changes into car design.

This service provides original car data based on its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
Relying on these data, potential customers may learn:
- whether such VIN really exists (i.e. whether car with such VIN was ever officially produced);
- whether serial numbers of engine, transmission and axles specified in car papers match those of original parts of this vehicle;
- is declared car production date real;
- does the list of options specified in car papers and on plates matches to the original one;
- whether interior and exterior finishing are those of original car.

Should any option codes declared within vehicle documents not match the data card, or should any options be actually different in the car, it might be evidence of the car being tampered with or having undergone some redesign for potentially alarming reason, possible as a result of:
- Forged VIN specification on car's body and plates
- Recovery of the car after serious incident
- Assembly of several seriously damaged cars into one
- Major modifications by previous owner
- Reckless usage and lack of care for the car

We recommend that you take such cars cautiously, and, if possible, refrain from buying them. Upon your discretion, you may want to report such cars to officials. In any case, we would advise that you require some additional checks for the troublesome cars done by criminal experts.

We assure our users that we do not exploit this service to gather any data of automobile's service history and owners. We also do not obtain any information based on IP addresses of client computers, do not retrieve any email of postal addresses etc. Should you want additional privacy, you're welcome to use anonimizers or any other public proxy-servers.

If you do not trust our service, if you are afraid of Russian mafia or if at you a paranoia, do not use our service!
