Michelin's Energy Saver and Primacy HP tyres have been awarded the highest rating in tests conducted by the German Automobile Association (ADAC), Europe's largest auto club. Both tyres received a "highly recommendable" rating and these two tyres represent 85 percent of the summer car tyres produced by the Michelin Group.

Carried out by ADAC and its Austrian and Swiss counterparts - Osterreichischer Automobil Motorrad und Touring Club (OAMTC) and Touring Club Suisse (TCS) - the comparative test involved 18 different 185/60 R 14 H-rated tyres and 19 tyres in the 205/55 R 16 W-rated size.

Performance was measured in five major areas: dry grip, wet grip, fuel consumption, longevity and comfort (including noise). The top overall three-star rating awarded to both the Michelin Energy Saver and Primacy HP reflects the two tyres' excellent performance in each of the categories.

Among the tyres awarded three stars, the two Michelin tyres received the highest scores in terms of longevity and fuel efficiency, demonstrating their ability in helping to reduce running costs.

Mercedes E Class – Tyre Option, Michelin Primacy

The Mercedes E Class Avant-garde is probably the best in its executive performance class. Its close competition is the newly designed BMW 5 series. Usually seen in their hundreds on the M25 chauffeur driven with newspaper reading directors in the back we see this car with real hard wearing tyre requirements. Tyre of choice seems to be the Michelin Primacy and the tyre sizes vary between 205/60 R 16 V and 245/45 R17 Z. Alternatively we recommend fitting the Continental Sport Contact 3 (MO) - the MO fitment is a specific fitment for the Mercedes, designed by Continental to enhance the vehicle's performance.
